Learn the foundations of powder brow permanent makeup with Julie McDonald, RN, BScN. This course covers safety, consultation, brow mapping, equipment, colour selection, powder brow technique, aftercare, and assessing healed results.

Module 2 – Health, Safety & Infection Prevention: Aseptic technique, Hand hygiene, PPE, Cleaning/disinfection, Sterile vs. single-use equipment, Sharps, Cross-contamination, Blood/body-fluid exposure.

Module 3-Skin Fundamentals
Module 3 - Skin Fundamentals → skin anatomy, healing, skin types, contraindications and when treatment should be postponed or declined.

Module 4 – Colour & Pigment Theory
Module 4 - Colour & Pigment Theory:undertones, Fitzpatrick considerations, pigment selection, warm/cool colours, colour changes during healing and choosing pigments for individual clients.

Module 5 – PMU Equipment
Module 5 - PMU Equipment: machine fundamentals, cartridges/needle configurations, machine setup, depth, hand speed, machine speed, stretching and safe handling.

Module 6 – Brow Mapping & Design
Module 6 - Brow Mapping & Design: Facial assessment, mapping, symmetry, brow fronts, arches, tails and creating individualized designs.

Module 7 – Powder Brow Technique
Module 7 - Powder Brow Technique: Pixelation, gradients, soft fronts, layering, saturation, passes, pressure and avoiding common mistakes.

Module 8 – Client Consultation & Documentation
Module 8 - Client Consultation & Documentation: Consent, medical history, expectations, photography, documentation and aftercare.

Different Types of Permanent Makeup Pigments Permanent makeup pigments are specially formulated colourants designed to be implanted into the skin. Understanding pigment composition is important because different formulations can behave differently during implantation, healing, fading and removal.
